1. General Information
1.1Who can use TrialCheck®?
The search for trials feature of TrialCheck® is available to anyone searching for a cancer clinical trial. Additional features of TrialCheck® are available to Premium Services members; medical professionals and researchers in the field of oncology who are members of the Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups, registered with the NCI-sponsored cooperative groups that are members of the Coalition (ACOSOG, CALGB, COG, ECOG, GOG, NCCTG, NSABP, RTOG), or who are members of ASCO and ONS. 1.2Why do I need a User Profile to access TrialCheck®?
Healthcare professionals using www.TrialCheck.org need to register to complete a search on TrialCheck. Patient, caregivers and patient advocates using TrialCheck through www.CancerTrialsHelp.org do not need to register to conduct a search on TrialCheck. These users do need to provide some registration information (username and password) if you would like to save you TrialCheck screening results.
1.3I am a patient. Can I enroll myself onto a cancer clinical trial using TrialCheck?
You cannot actually enroll in a trial using TrialCheck. You must work with your medical team to enroll on the most appropriate cancer clinical trial for your disease. We recommend that you complete the TrialCheck screening questionnaire and discuss the results to your medical team.
1.4Can pharmaceutical companies add clinical trials to TrialCheck®?
TrialCheck contains any pharmaceutical or biotechnology trials that are listed in the NCI’s PDQ database. Selected pharmaceutical companies are invited to add their trials to TrialCheck®. If your company is interested, contact us at Info@CancerTrialsHelp.org.
1.5As a healthcare provider, can I add my own trials to the database?
TrialCheck currently doesn’t include investigator initiated studies that are not already listed in PDQ. You may add your site’s trials to TrialCheck® so that they are visible to you and your staff, but not the general TrialCheck database. To do add your studies, please contact the Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups at Info@CancerTrialsHelp.org.
1.6Is there a charge for using TrialCheck®?
There is no charge to use TrialCheck®. There are TrialCheck Premium Services available to hospital, institutions and/or practices. For more information about these services, contact us at Info@CancerTrialsHelp.org.
1.7Is TrialCheck® available to patients and caregivers?
Yes, patient and caregivers can conduct searches on TrialCheck through www.CancerTrialsHelp.org.
2. How to Use TrialCheck
2.1How do I use TrialCheck® to search for clinical trials?
There are three different search options within TrialCheck:
• Eligibility Screening: Complete the simple cancer clinical trial screening questionnaire to find trials that you or your patients are most likely eligible to enroll.
• Trial Listing: This search functionality allows you to search for cancer clinical trials by specific Protocol ID, Protocol Title, Drug and more.
• Hospital or Practice Look up: This search feature allows you to search for cancer clinical trials by specific hospital or practice.
2.2I am a healthcare provider—how do I make corrections to the roster information?
Because TrialCheck’s® information comes directly from the Cooperative Groups, all corrections to your name, address, affiliations, etc. should be made through your affiliated Cooperative Group. Once the change is made with the appropriate Cooperative Group, it will be transmitted to TrialCheck® in the next download.
2.3Whom do I contact for more information or with other questions?
If you have any questions about TrialCheck and the cancer clinical trials you find through your search, you can email the Coalition at Info@CancerTrialsHelp.org or you can call the American Cancer Society at 1-877-227-8451.
2.4Why can't I view abstracts or eligibility documents?
Abstracts and eligibility documents are not yet available for all protocols in the database. We are working with the cooperative groups to acquire complete information for all cooperative group trials. When available, we also provide links to NCI summaries. If you know of other patient-friendly summaries we might post, contact us at feedback@trialcheck.org.
2.5How can I view protocol abstracts, eligibility requirements, and patient-friendly summaries?
Protocol abstracts, eligibility requirements, and patient-friendly summaries are published in Adobe's Portable Document Format files (PDFs). This format allows documents to be viewed and printed by users regardless of their operating systems. Viewing these files requires installing the Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer. 2.6As a healthcare provider, how do I enroll patients on trials if I am not a member of any cooperative group?
The only way to participate in cooperative group trials is through membership. Membership in one group does not preclude participating in other groups` trials if they are offered as an "intergroup" study. Contact the groups directly for more information about membership.

3. Contents
3.1Which clinical trials are contained in the TrialCheck® database?
TrialCheck contains more than 4,000 trials. They include trials from the Cooperative Groups, and the NCI physician data query (PDQ).
3.2What other information is contained in the TrialCheck® database?
TrialCheck® also contains IRB approved locations where the trials are open and enrolling patients.
3.3How often is the information updated?
Cooperative Group information is updated daily. Data from the NCI physician data query (PDQ) is updated weekly and/or monthly.
3.4How current is the information in the database?
TrialCheck contains the most up-to-date Cooperative Group information. It is updated real-time as individual institutions provide IRB approval information to the regulatory body of the NCI. Non-cooperative Group information is updated weekly or monthly varying by the frequency of downloads from the NCI. NCI sends weekly hot fixes that are reflected in TrialCheck as well as monthly feeds of new information that is also updated in the TrialCheck database.
3.5How accurate is the information?
Cooperative Group information contained in TrialCheck® comes directly from its official source—the sites participating in the studies. We have a very high confidence level in this data. If you see discrepancies please contact Info@CancerTrialsHelp.org with the protocol ID and performance site information related to your inquiry. Non-Cooeprative Group information in PDQ and clinical trials.gov data comes to us via those organizations. We rely on their diligence for accuracy. Please notify us if you see inaccuracies with the non-cooperative group data and we will follow up with PDQ to try and clarify the situation.
3.6I am a healthcare provider—why is my name listed more than once, and how do I correct that?
Because TrialCheck® information comes directly from the cooperative groups, all corrections to your name, address, affiliations, etc. should be made through your cooperative group. Once the change is made in the group, it will be transmitted to TrialCheck® in the next weekly download.

4.1How secure is the information in the database?
The information in TrialCheck® is stored in a password-protected database to prevent unauthorized persons from changing or viewing the data.
